More than 90% of our business has come from someone having a good experience and telling a friend or another family member. Often it’s a referral from one of our many friends and associates in the health-care field, who have a client that needs to be relocated.
They call us because they know their client will be treated like one of the family.
We have thank-you notes and letters of recommendation on file from past clients who have become our friends, people with disorganized, cluttered lives in search of organization. (click here for some of these letters) Some were faced with moving years of memories and no idea where to begin the process.
Those were important jobs for us. Every job we undertake is given our undivided attention and we’ve been rewarded with some wonderful new relationships.
But lately we find ourselves busy with an area of specialization that we truly love – Senior Move Management. We have lots of stories here, too, but have selected a couple of letters from recent clients that we would like to share:
To Whom It May Concern:
Recently my Brother and I made a tough decision and relocated our Mother to facilitate the necessity to be close to family and receive support and additional care.
My thoughts were awhirl and I had no idea how we were going to move all of Mom's familiar belongings to a new residence, let alone get everything set up before she was to be discharged in a few days time. Everything needed to be cleaned (Mom was a smoker), donated or left behind in the home she has lived in for 43 years. I needed a miracle.
The miracle happened when Mom's Certified Geriatric Care Coordinator was listening to my woes... … ….she referred me to “A Place In Time”; a relocation service owned, operated, and orchestrated by Valerie Preuss.
Valerie answered my call late at night with a smile in her voice. She immediately understood exactly what I needed and made an appointment to meet me at Mom's house and designate everything that needed to be cleaned, packed, and moved. She took pictures of everything so that the furniture, pictures and even the medicine cabinet contents could be set up exactly like Mom had it at the old family home. She explained exactly what her role would be and exactly what her other employees and associates would do and I felt the weight of the world drop from my shoulders. I cried with relief.
On moving day the team arrived at Mom's house (I didn't have to travel 130 miles to be there) wrapped, packed, and placed all the furniture, clothing and other items into the moving van and hit the road; arriving mid day at the new home to unload, unpack, clean/polish and put everything away...right down to making the bed and hanging the pictures exactly as they were arranged in Mom's family home of 43 years.
Valerie and her team of professionals at “A Place In Time” went far beyond my (rather high) expectations. They provided everything that I could think of and much, much more; from empathetic organization to personal shopping services, they ensured that every single detail of the relocation would go smoothly and provide a secure and comforting environment for my beloved Mother.
My experience with Valerie and her team were exceptional and outstanding. “A Place In Time” is truly a world-class organization and they excel in providing guidance and caring support when relocation senior citizens life to another place or destination... ...weather it is across town or across the country, this team is the very best.

This letter serves as my personal recommendation and evaluation to attest for the excellent service rendered by Valerie Preuss and her company, A Place in Time.
Valerie and her team were hired to coordinate and assist with the move of my client, an elderly couple relocating from one senior residential community to another in Scottsdale, AZ.
Valerie was instrumental in identifying, inventorying and evaluating furnishings and belongings to move to the new residence; and was thorough in detail in identifying how to position such furnishings and belongings in the new residence.
This move was extremely difficult for two reasons: first, the client has furnishings and property in two separate apartments and a storage unit at the residence they were leaving; and secondly, the client who were both dealing with cognitive impairment issues, made matters more challenging by attempting to pack their items the night before the moving team were to come and pack and move the belongings to the new residence.
Valerie and her team did an excellent job in getting the move done in a timely manner, given the extraordinary circumstances, and used exceptional attention to detail in placing all the furnishings and décor to make the residence a stunning and inviting place for the client to live in and enjoy entertaining their friends in. All of the items placed in drawers, cabinets and closets were well organized in an orderly fashion, and enabled the elderly client couple to get access to the items they needed at any and all times.
Valerie and her team even followed up early the next day to help provide additional items (personal toiletry items, paper products, etc.)
Equally as important, Valerie provided heartfelt personal attention and compassion that the elderly couple needed given the challenging situation of the move.
I look forward to having Valerie and her team provide their exceptional services to assist more of my clients with any moving related needs that they may require in the future.
Sincerely,
Paul Quackenbush, CTFA
